F-It list

I have realized that I have always been an “I want to do it all,” kinda person. But there are moments when I don't want to hustle; instead, I want to lie the fuck down.

Take it from someone who has consumed chamomile tea, tried meditation, and booked me-time in the calendar in an attempt of being her 'best self'. Balance isn't found at the bottom of a pricey tea or as the conclusion of a yoga lesson. Instead, it's a state of mind. And something that has really been working for me is - 'A Fuck-It list'

We spend a lot of time checking things off our to-do lists, creating aspirational Pinterest boards, and pondering our next big goal, dream, or plan. Then we wonder why we've burned out.

Answer honestly- How much time and effort do you put into stuff that doesn't really matter? Or activities that you think you "should" do rather than those that you really want to do?

STEPS TO MAKE A FUCK-IT LIST -

  1.  Make a mental or physical list of all the things that aren't worthy of your time, resources, or attention. Consider it as a kind of anti-bucket list. My list is known as the F-It List.
  2. Add the 'People' sub-category to the list. Friendships that aren't up to par or are toxic. We must all safeguard our time and energy. For me, this means no more “obligation” lunches at overpriced restaurants or no more friendships where people don't value my efforts for them aka toxic. (Wasn't intended to anyone, but as they say, if the shoe fits wear it Cinderella)
  3. Add the 'Activities' sub-category to the list. This could be any activity that drains you mentally. But this section needs a solution too in the format 'Activity - Solution(s)'. For example, Overthinking - Gratitude journaling/Video calling a friend.
  4. Add more sections and categories according to your personal preferences.
  5. Keep it updated. And no, I'm not joking, it's helpful. And you'll be shocked by how much more energy you have when you stop pushing yourself through life.

None of these things in the list matter. They're just insignificant. I free myself up to be as energetic and alive as possible by noticing them, saying "fuck it," and waving them off. You know what? I'm just pretty good at a lot of other stuff. You're the same way. Avoid mentally cursing yourself for things that don't matter if you want to live a productive life.

Some days you thrive, and others you survive. On some days, you want to hustle, and on others, you just want to lie the fuck down.

It’s impossible to be everything for everyone. You'll find you have a lot more to offer if you handle yourself with a little more acceptance and understanding.

Living

I'm not sure what I want to be or do. All I know is that I want to live. To me, living isn't about having a big title or a fancy job. It's about enjoying the simple things. It's about feeling the morning sunshine on my face, laughing so hard it hurts, and crying to release the pain. It's about finding peace in quiet moments and letting my mind wander.  But life isn’t always sunshine and pretty skies. It’s storms that break you down, darkness that swallows you whole, and days when getting out of bed feels like swimming through raging waves. It’s the crushing burden of expectations, the fear of failure, and the lonely feeling of not fitting in. I’m tired of pretending to have it all figured out.  I’m a person, a whole, messy, complex person. I’m the quiet kid who dreams big and the friend who’s there for anyone. I’m the one who’s afraid of heights but jumps off cliffs anyway. I just want to be me, with all my flaws and strengths, my hopes and fears, my joys and sorrow...

Beliefs (A book review)

Why I Am An Atheist -  A Pamphlet written by Bhagat Singh   This book isn't for a weak-willed person, but for a person with an uncompromising heart, who will not follow this blindly, but will question it, criticize it and think it over will actually understand what this book is about. Because this is what Bhagat Singh conveys to us by his book To question our beliefs. We all read history in our school, what we really don’t learn are the reasons behind them, the feelings of the revolutionaries. And even if someday history repeats itself, what will matter the most is the fact most ignored in our curriculum. How those times were for an individual, how it is being in jail constantly fighting your solace, questioning your beliefs? My favorite quote from the book is "the sword of revolution is sharpened at the whetstone of thought" Are we still not colonized? Because we still understand things from the perspective being imposed on us by society. We still do not qu...
