Grow into your Goals.

I don't have dreams, I have goals.  - Harvey Specter

GOALS?

Why are goals so important? Why does everyone keep talking about goals?

Well, Goals help me proudly say-
"I know where I am going"

Are you the kind of person who likes to drift along and see what happens?

OR

Do you have a goal which is something you would like to happen in your life and are working towards it?

Setting goals is the most significant step and is quite difficult sometimes. But, believing you can accomplish the goal you have set may actually be the hardest part.

So I do this thing called "living the result" or "internalising the goal" before you have achieved it. And I do think it plays an important role in motivating you constantly to work towards your goal. Your imagination is what makes the journey towards the goal so beautiful.

The Goal should be clear in your mind, not a half hearted wish.
You must have belief in yourself and your ability to achieve the ends desired.

Ever loved someone so much, you would do anything for them? Yeah, well make that someone yourself and do whatever the hell you want.

Have a positive self-esteem and fully expect to achieve the goals.
But do not overdo this part. EXPECTATIONS HURT!
So a solution to this might be a concept called "prudence concept" that we study in accountancy which states that- Provide for all possible losses.
Simply- Hope for the best, Be prepared for the worst.

Lastly, Have self-discipline, stick to your goals for as long as you can.

I can't conclude this post without mentioning my biggest inspiration for this post-
HARVEY SPECTER (Suits character)

His quotes from the show:

  • Work until you no longer have to introduce yourself.
  • That's the difference between you and me, you wanna lose small, I wanna win big.
  • The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary.
  • Winners don't make excuses.
  • Don't play the odds, Play the man.
  • When you’re backed against the wall, break the goddamn thing down.
  • I don’t get lucky. I make my own luck.
  • (best one) What are your choices when someone puts a gun to your head? You take the gun, or you pull out a bigger one. Or, you call their bluff. Or, you do any of a hundred and forty-six different things.

Living

I'm not sure what I want to be or do. All I know is that I want to live. To me, living isn't about having a big title or a fancy job. It's about enjoying the simple things. It's about feeling the morning sunshine on my face, laughing so hard it hurts, and crying to release the pain. It's about finding peace in quiet moments and letting my mind wander.  But life isn’t always sunshine and pretty skies. It’s storms that break you down, darkness that swallows you whole, and days when getting out of bed feels like swimming through raging waves. It’s the crushing burden of expectations, the fear of failure, and the lonely feeling of not fitting in. I’m tired of pretending to have it all figured out.  I’m a person, a whole, messy, complex person. I’m the quiet kid who dreams big and the friend who’s there for anyone. I’m the one who’s afraid of heights but jumps off cliffs anyway. I just want to be me, with all my flaws and strengths, my hopes and fears, my joys and sorrow...

3 years later, what life's like?

I'm picking up my pen again, and it feels amazing!  It’s truly easy to get swept away in the bunch of responsibilities, deadlines, and the never-ending grind of our daily routines.  Lately, I’ve felt this chaos more than ever. I’ve been so completely absorbed in the busyness of life that I’ve lost touch with the things that always brought me so much happiness. I've been so consumed by my responsibilities that I've lost touch with the things that bring me joy, and it's only now that I'm starting to feel the emptiness that's been growing inside me. Life can be overwhelming, and it often demands so much from us. Academic responsibilities, work commitments, family obligations, social engagements — they all pull at our time and energy. Yet, in the midst of this hustle, I believe it is necessary to pause and ask ourselves: What brings us joy? What makes our hearts sing? For me, it’s the simple pleasures: curling up with a good book, losing myself in the pages of a sto...

Beliefs (A book review)

Why I Am An Atheist -  A Pamphlet written by Bhagat Singh   This book isn't for a weak-willed person, but for a person with an uncompromising heart, who will not follow this blindly, but will question it, criticize it and think it over will actually understand what this book is about. Because this is what Bhagat Singh conveys to us by his book To question our beliefs. We all read history in our school, what we really don’t learn are the reasons behind them, the feelings of the revolutionaries. And even if someday history repeats itself, what will matter the most is the fact most ignored in our curriculum. How those times were for an individual, how it is being in jail constantly fighting your solace, questioning your beliefs? My favorite quote from the book is "the sword of revolution is sharpened at the whetstone of thought" Are we still not colonized? Because we still understand things from the perspective being imposed on us by society. We still do not qu...
